Horn Antennas 170 MHz - 40 GHz

Here is A H Systems listing of different horn antenna types split up into three categories. The latest version of Mil-Std 461E states the used of broadband double ridge guide horn antenna as the antenna of choice for frequencies above 200 MHz. The double ridge guide horn antennas are an excellent choice where broadband coverage is required, these antennas cover 170 MHz up to 40 GHz. A H Systems also have a listing for standard gain antennas, or also known as pyramidal horns, these antennas are very precise and predictable through design parameters covering a range of 750 MHz up to 40 GHz. A H Systems also offer a series of octave horn antennas with low VSWR, medium gain and high input handling capabilities.

Biconical Antennas 20 MHz - 18 GHz

For many years most standards called for the use of a half-wave dipole antenna set for frequencies above 80 MHz. However, to reduce test time, broadband antennas such as the biconical antenna and log periodic antennas began to be accepted. Broadband antennas, compared to half wave dipoles, reduce test time because the technician did not have to stop the test to adjust the dipole antenna for each frequency. A.H. Systems’ 7 models of Biconical Antennas operate efficiently over the frequency range of 20 MHz to 18 GHz. Suitable for FCC, MIL-STD, VDE, TEMPEST, and immunity testing, each Biconical antenna will provide reliable, repeatable measurements.

Bilogical Antennas 20 MHz - 1 GHz

For rapid deployment along with the mobility of small package, these Bilogical Antenna Kits provides an inexpensive solution to broadband applications. Each Bilogical Antenna Kit comes with a Folding Bilogical Antenna, tripod extension rod, cable, screwdriver and a rugged carrying case with an optional preamplifier cutout. Suitable for FCC, MIL-STD, VDE, TEMPEST, and immunity testing, each Bilogical antenna will provide reliable, repeatable measurements. The ability to sweep in one trace makes the Bilogical antenna a versatile performer.

Dipole Antennas 25 MHz - 3 GHz

These half wavelength resonant dipole antennas are the foundation of every compliance testing lab. Initial designed by Willmar K. Roberts, these precision made half wavelength dipole antennas are the ideal solution for site attenuation measurements. Each antenna is manufactured with a balun loss of less than 0.5 dB and a VSWR of less than 1.5:1 The half wavelength resonant dipole antenna is the simplest antenna from a theoretical point of view, and are commonly used as a gain reference.

H-Field Rod Antennas 100 Hz - 30 MHz

The A.H. Systems’ set of H-Field Rods provide an accurate standard for magnetic field testing. The rods are available individually or in a set of four to cover the frequency range of 100 Hz to 30 MHz. For those situations when improved sensitivity is desired in magnetic field testing, the H-Field Rod is an effective alternative to traditional loop antennas. One amplifier pre-assembled to a metallic ground plane covers the entire frequency range and can be used with any or all of the H-Field Rod elements. Log Periodic Antennas 80 MHz - 7 GHz

Log periodic antennas are our specialty here at A.H. Systems, and on this page you will find a great selection of log periodic antennas, ranging from standard frequency coverage to broadband and folding antennas. These antennas are excellent for shielding effectiveness, site-survey, pre-compliance testing, or full compliance applications.

Loop Antennas 20 Hz - 30 MHz

A.H. Systems manufactures a wide variety of loop antennas in the frequency range of 20 Hz to 30 MHz. Loop antennas are primarily used to measure the magnetic field strength at lower frequencies. The electrically small size of these loop antennas has the advantage of convenience in handling, availability of a zero- response orientation, and a simple expression for the voltage produced by a given field strength. At higher frequencies, about above 100 MHz, a loop of practical size may no longer be electrically small and has a significant response to the electric field as well as the magnetic field.

Whether used in a set to measure shielding effectiveness per MIL-STD 285 and NSA 65-6 or individually to satisfy specific requirements, the Loop Antenna is an efficient, low cost solution.

Monopole Antennas 100 Hz - 60 MHz

Monopole (both active and passive) Antennas provide superior performance in electric field measurements. The Active Monopole Antenna can drive any receiver with 50 ohm input impedance and will perform FCC, MIL-STD and TEMPEST tests. The passive rod is used for transmitting, to perform shielding effectiveness and immunity testing. Click on a model below to learn more about it’s characteristics.

Preamplifiers 5 KHz - 40 GHz

A.H. Systems’ Preamplifier line is an excellent choice with a rugged design, no hassles with soldering your own power leads and they improve overall system sensitivity by at least 20 dB. All of A.H. Systems’ Preamplifiers come with a 12-volt (or 15-volt) DC regulated power source. A low voltage indicator confidently allows you to power the amplifier with your own external 12-volt DC battery. This makes it a convenient choice for field measurements.

Current Probes 20 Hz - 500 MHz

Current Probes are designed to be used in the process of generating and measuring high levels of RF current for a wide variety of industrial and scientific applications. Conducted currents can be measured without making direct contact with the source conductor or metallic surface. These EMC Current Probes are designed to permit field intensity meters, spectrum analyzers, and other 50-ohm impedance instruments to measure quantitative magnitudes of current. Measurements can be made on single and multi-conductor cables, ground and bonding straps, shielded conduits and on coaxial cables.
